Dad grew up in Browndale, in northeastern PA. His parents Stanley and Mary Alanskas Paukstis immigrated from Lithuania.
Stanley arrived first and Mary followed 2 years later with their 2 daughters
They had 4 sons (Tony, Stanley, Ben, and Frank) and 5 daughters (Kathryn, Ann, Mary, Helen and Veronica)

Helen Dukanick Paukstis, 88, of Bedford, passed away Monday, Jan. 31, 2011 at Bedford Memorial Hospital.
She was born on July 26, 1922 in Forest City, Pennsylvania, the only daughter of the late Gregory Dukanick and Kathryn Korshnak Dukanick.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Paukstis, two sisters, Mary Mechock, Anna Sewack, and five brothers,
John Mechock, Mike Mechock, Steve Mechock, Steve Duker and Michael Dupkanich.
She was a graduate of Forest City High School and was employed by the Navy Department in Mechanicsburg, PA for 20 years.
She was a communicant of Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Eileen Backofen and her husband Joseph, of Moneta, two granddaughters, Jeanne Craig and husband Eddie,
of Goode, Karen Black and husband David, of Danville, a grandson, Bobby Backofen of Lexington, Massachusetts,
as well as five great-grandsons, Bobby Backofen, Billy Craig, Andy Craig, Steven Black and Jacob Black, and one great-granddaughter, Carrie Craig.
The family would like to thank the staff of Oakwood Health & Rehabilitation Center and Bedford Hospital for all their kind care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church on Thursday, Feb. 3, at 11 a.m.,
with Father Salvador Añonuevo and Father Stephen McNally officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour preceding the service.
Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

VERONICA M. SHEROSHICK
CANISTEO -- Veronica M. Sheroshick, 80, of 40 West Main St., died Wednesday (Aug. 7, 2002) at her home following a long illness.
Born in Forest City, Pa., May 18, 1922, a daughter of Stanley and Mary Aleskis Paukstis, she had made her home in Canisteo since 1945. She had been employed as an inspector for the former Westinghouse Plant in Bath prior to her retirement in 1984. She was a communicant of St. Joachim's Church in Canisteo. Ronnie enjoyed bowling and playing golf and was a member of the Womans Bowling Associating and Twin Hickory.
On May 3, 1945, she married Martin A. Sheroshick who survives.
Surviving in addition to her husband Martin of Canisteo are three daughters, Carolyn Cone, Janis M. Speed and Brenda Fortuna, all of Canisteo; one sister, Mary Prezelski of Pennsylvania; one brother, Stanley Paukstis of New Jersey; three grandchildren, Michele Day, Vicki Flaitz and Bradley John Speed; five great-grandchildren, Quillan, Taylor and Ethan Speed and Nicholas and Dylan Day.
There will be no calling hours or services. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at St. Mary's Cemetery, Town of Fremont.
